Bright Accessories Trendy for Spring 2015
Handbags, Scarves, Shoes Available in Neon and Candy Hues
There's no denying that bright color is one of the hottest trends for spring. Accessories have been shown in a bevy of candy and neon hues. It's easy to shy away from color and stick to basic neutrals such as black and gray, but a bright accessory is an ideal way to ease into the color trend.
- Green: The two most popular shades of green for spring 2015 are lime green and kelly green. Lime is surprisingly easier to pull off than some women expect. A pair of lime green flats, for example, are both funky and chic, particularly with an outfit that consists mostly of white or black. It's also best to pair kelly green with neutral colors -- adding it to another shade, such as pink, can look stereotypically preppy.
- Pink: Neon shades, such as hot pink and fuchsia, are being shown for multiple accessories such as handbags and scarves. For those that think pink looks too girlie, a way to balance the femininity is to choose fabrics or styles that have a bit of a masculine edge. A pink handbag in distressed or pebble leather is less sweet than one in suede or a smooth fabric. Instead of heels or even flats, pink driving moccasins combine the feminine/masculine qualities.
- Blue: Sky blue is bright without being day-glow. Blue accessories are fresh paired with white clothes. A blue scarf looks great with an all-white outfit or a white shirt with denim blue jeans.
- White: White isn't necessarily associated with bright color, but white accessories have the same ability to pop. A large white or off-white leather tote is a good buy because it'll stay current long after this season ends.
Additional Bright Accessories
Handbags, purses and scarves are already mentioned, but there are a few other ways to add bright colors to one's look.
- Sunglasses: This is a great way to try a bright color. Instead of typical black or brown, a pair of sunglasses in green, purple or blue are fun and pretty. The best idea for bright sunglasses is to keep the shape fairly standard (oval or round). A too-kitschy shape can begin to look a bit Lolita-esque.
- Makeup: Inspired by runways, magazines are showing smoky eyes done in blues, greens or purples instead of the standard grays and black. Pink cheeks and lips are also big. Orange is even been shown on eyes, cheeks and lips (though not at the same time!)
- Small Jewelry: If the still-trendy chunky necklaces or bracelets isn’t up one’s alley, there are smaller pieces of jewelry infused with color. Stud earrings or a small ring adds a little touch of brightness.
